Teacher preparation(Before day 1):
v TLE teacher should be informed that this lesson needs her help and expertise in preparing and determining the quality of a commonly served merienda Filipino delicacy. Ask permission from her Department head that their laboratory will be used for this lesson .
v Booking and reservation at the computer laboratory should be done.
v Guide questions must be distributed before having the activity.
Friday is the best day to implement this lesson so that students will have time to prepare during weekend.
Day 2 (Friday )
Begin the unit by asking the essential question: How to unravel mixtures in mixture?

and unlock the terms such as :
Unravel – discover
Filipino delicacy- The food that is indigenous in the Philippines.
Before they can answer students are asked to give examples of Filipino delicacies and throws back the essential question again. The expected answers are to interview someone, taste the food, or experience cooking the food.
They are ask to group themselves into 5 with 10 members and decide a detailed plan of the following:
o Who is the marketer, producer, quality controller and documentation in-charge, and a cleaner.
o How to cook Biko for this activity[II4] .
o Who brings a digital camera on Monday.
Note: Remind the students to work as a team before and after the activity and give
them the guide questions.
Weekend: The students will:
o Get to know the delicacy by interviewing elders and small entrepreneurs. They are advised to use the Interview guide made by the teacher.
o Planning how to produce the favorite merienda Filipino delicacy.
- decide, budget and purchase the ingredients
-procedure (give special attention to the details of each step[II5] .)
Day 3 (Monday)

v With the assistance of their TLE teacher [II6] they cook their biko.
v While cooking they will be monitored in terms of their cooperation (fluidity of their movement., ability to share ideas, their ability to maintain cleanliness their respective area, and whether they can relate cooking biko with the concepts of mixtures.)
v They will take digital pictures of the steps where concepts of mixtures are observed. A picture of the final product is also expected from them. These pictures will later be used when they will make their MS-Power Point presentation.
v Peer evaluation will be done by tasting their final product.
Day 5 (Tuesday)
· They will make their story board [II7] to prepare them for the MS-Powerpoint developing.
Day 4 (Wednesday)
· Developing[II8] the MS-Powerpoint Presentation.
Note: The MS-Powerpoint presentation must not exceed of 15 slides and contains many concepts in Mixtures.
Day 5 ( Thursday)
· Presentation of student’s MS-Powerpoint Presentation.

[II9] Day 5 (Thursday)
v They make a website[II10] with the use of MS-Publisher. Teacher must assist the students closely.
v Peer Review must be done.
Note: Inform the students that the content of their site must consist of the following:
v Preserving good traditional cooking techniques
v Value indigenous ingredients that make the delicacy of its distinct taste.
v Suggest ways to improve the quality of the delicacy.
v Concepts of mixtures involved in preparing the product.
Day 6 ( Friday)
Conduct a class discussion on the essential question again. Students should be more enlightened on the advocacy of preserving traditional cooking techniques, the use of indigenous materials, the concepts that are involved in preparing a Filipino delicacy.
Make a simple business proposal on the nature of the delicacy.
